Classification talks were given by members Michael Cowan and Ed Shockley

August 8

Bill Mundell, candidate for Corporate Commission, spoke about the role of the commission. He compared it to the Public Utilities Commission in other states, and also likened it to a "mini SEC". The commission works hand in hand with the Attorney General.

August 15

Melissa Windsor with Window Genie of the East Valley spoke to the club about the services provided by Window Genie, as well as the experiences she gained from hosting a Rotary Exchange student.

Jacquie Smith was awarded with a Paul Harris pin on August 1.

The board installed Elise Otero as our newest member on August 16.

Our first service project of the year was at the Apache Junction Food Bank on August 20.

Rotary Leadership Institute training, on August 11 in Flagstaff, boasted the largest participation in several years. Attending from our club were Jay Jones, Jim Erickson, Ed Shockley, Brian Kabat, Len LaFlesch, Lee Holmes and Roberta Holmes.
