Our speaker on May 9th was Chris Holm, a Past District Governor from Minnesota.
Chris spoke about how the Rotary Foundation, the heartbeat of Rotary, has evolved since its beginning. He hilighted the power of matching grants, using the press and making sure the groups that benefit would not receive those benefits from other sources. He urged us to pick large projects that can be successful and sustainable.
A check was printed to the Apache Junction Chief of Police in the amount of $500, to help the police department achieve their goal to purchase a camera to install in the prisoner transport vehicle.
Len LaFlesch presented a District Governor 2018-2019 pin to Jim Erickson. He also presented Assistant Governor pins to Jay Jones and Lee Holmes.
