We have two upcoming service opportunities on October 26:
  • 'Make a Difference Day' and the 'Arizona Sustainability Alliance' are working on improvements to the median on the Apache Trail, with plants and trees. There will be an opportunity to help with planting.
  • We have been given the opportunity take host a tent at Parks & Rec's Halloween Event, where children can play games and get their Halloween treats. We will need volunteers at the tent during the evening.

Lee Holmes presented the club with two banners from District 9400 clubs that he visited while on his trip to South Africa with Blessman International.

Peggy Cabrinha was inducted to the Superstition Mountain Rotary Club at our meeting on September 25 by Club President, Bob Benjamin.

New to our club but not new to Rotary, Peggy joined the Rotary Club of Atwood Kansas about twenty years ago. She went on to become the President of that club and then District Governor for District 5670.

Peggy joins our club with a boat load of Rotary experience and ideas. We welcome Peggy.

Ed Shockley and Lee Holmes attended the Pursuing Peace Conference on September 20th in Peoria. It was a great day meeting.  This picture of PDG Nancy Van Pelt and Lee Holmes was taken at that meeting.

Tickets are now available for our second annual Barleens event, on March 21, 2020! The cost will be $62 per person, $20 of which will be going to the Rotary Foundation. The entire theater is currently reserved for the club until two weeks before the event, when any unsold tickets will go back to Barleens. All promotions will be through the district, at no cost to the club. Harvey is working with Dr. Anderson to get the Apache Junction high school band to play at the event, for a donation of $500. It was moved, seconded and approved to put the event on the district calendar. A table for eight can be reserved at a sponsorship rate of $500. You can purchase tickets directly from Harvey Clark, or through eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/superstition-mountain-rotary-fundraiser-barleens-tickets-68658065121
