Carey Dickerson joined us at our November 20, 2019 meeting to explain the many services provided by Hospice of the Valley.

Their services extend beyond the medical realm and end-of-life-care. Many of their programs are for everyone and include grief support sessions, special workshops and educational presentations.

Much of Carey’s presentation focused on the topic … “Coping with Grief During the Holidays”.

We had two speakers at our November 13 meeting.

Lee Holmes gave a summary of his trip to South Africa and the fine work Rotary is doing there. Rotary projects include providing clothing, clean water, hygiene products, fresh fruits and vegetables and education.

Bryant Powell briefed the club on our upcoming Rotary Golf Tournament on January 11, 2020.

Bryant is the Chairman of this event and is excited that we have all of the elements of a successful golf tournament … a great golf course, golfers, prizes, sponsors, organization and marketing.

Oh! … but we need one more thing … Good Weather!

Jeff Struble was the speaker at the November 6 meeting. Jeff shared with us his idea to create a multi-use faculty called 'The Rhino ReCreation Center' where the kids will work in, and be employed by, the center.

Kids will be given increasing responsibilities and authority as they deserve them. This will help them to develop the skills they will need in the “real world” after high school.

The slogan of the facility is, “Where kids are in CHARGE”.
Jeff expects the facility to be open by Christmas 2021.
