ANNOUNCEMENTS AND CLUB BUSINESS

1. Larry Johnson introduced a guest and prospective membership prospect - Tim Silocar from the AJ Boys and Girls Club.

2. Larry Johnson told the club about a discount card program with area merchants and encouraged club members to pick up a free card from him today.

3. Larry Johnson told about a Boys and Girls Club car auction. Tickets are $10 each and only 3,000 will be sold. See Larry for a ticket.

4. Bryant announced that a planning meeting for our annual golf tournament will be held after today's meeting.

5. Bill Burrows filled in for Aaron McDermid as Sargeant-at-Arms today and he raised $ for the children.

6. Harvey Clark won the drawing and $10. The pot was worth $270.50 today. Harvey drew the deuce of hearts and the club cheered.

Our speaker today was Rick Olson. Rick is an improvisational comedian who worked his "schtick" with us today.

Before his routine, Rick asked members of the club to fill out a 3 x 5 card with an inspirational saying on it. He handed out a bell to Bill Burrows to ding every time Bill wanted Rick to take a new direction in the story. Rick also told Jim Erickson to yell "Line" at which time Rick would read from one of the cards. It is hard to explain how it all went down but there were some very funny moments and Rick had the club roaring at times. One quote from Rick I jotted down was "You can find some humor in any situation and if you can find the humor, you can get by anything". This was one day when you had to be there to get it.
